AT-HOME NEWBORN SESSION WITH THE TERRELL FAMILY | COLORADO SPRINGS AND DENVER FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER

Joe and Shannon welcomed their daughter in May, and I had the opportunity to photograph their sweet family at their home in Colorado Springs. These moments were filled with cuddles, feeding, sleeping, and baby coos. While I love being part of wedding days, there is something extra special about documenting the early days of being at home with a newborn. It's a unique and magical time that I feel privileged to capture.
Having had my own baby back in February, I was able to bring my own postpartum experience to their session, which allowed me to connect with Joe and Shannon in a deeper way. We all appreciated the slower pace, the tenderness, and the sacredness of those moments. Being both a film and digital photographer, I strive to capture the genuine emotions and connections between families in a natural and authentic way.
I love being able to provide in-home newborn photography sessions, where families can feel comfortable and relaxed in their own space. Being a Colorado Springs family photographer allows me to capture families against the stunning backdrop of the Rocky Mountains, but I also love in-home family sessions, which allow me to photograph with my clients in a more intimate setting.
Whether it's newborn photos, family sessions, or capturing special moments on film, I am grateful for the trust that families like Joe and Shannon place in me to document their precious memories.

An Intimate In-Home Maternity Photoshoot | Colorado Springs

Watching your best friend become a mother is one of the best things. Ella and I met the first week of college in New York City — just two little 18-year-old babies figuring out life in the city together. Our first "date" was a Tennis concert and we say that was the night we fell in love with eachother. Me, Ella, and our three best friends moved into a tiny apartment on the Upper West Side and lived there for three years until we graduated. It was truly the most cramped, chaotic, and lovely roommie situation you could imagine.
It's been ten years since we all became friends and despite living in different places, we've been side by side in celebrations, grief, and growing. Ella was the first of us to become a mom and she's done it so gracefully. Not only is she a total stunner on the outside, she also bares magnetic laughter and whimsy, wisdom beyond her years, and a deep empathy for others — traits that have carried on seemlessly into her role as a mom.
When she visited Colorado last, she was seven months pregnant with her second son, Simon, and we got to take these sweet, intimate maternity photos in my home. We were inspired by grainy birth and motherhood film photography and I just love how these turned out.
So thankful for this job and the ability to capture seasons like this for people, especially those I love dearly! Thanks for being here! xx

Mountain Lovebirds | Colorado Engagement Session

These two give me all the freaking feels. Michaela and Jacob were SO easy to capture. Their love was tangible. And the light coming from behind the Rocky Mountains was just *working for us* the whole time.
As a photographer, it's my job to give prompts and and help make my clients feel at ease in front of the camera — because even if you're cute as heck like these two (I bet you are!), very few people feel perfectly comfortable with the idea of being photographed. That's where I come in!
I totally understand those feelings and when my husband and I have been photographed, we've heavily leaned on the photographer's directions to not feel like awkward babies. This session is such a great example of a couple needing just the tiniest bit of direction so that I could truly capture their emotions, their laughter, and this sweet season of life they were entering into.
As a photographer in Colorado, there is no shortage of amazing locations for photos, but this spot in Woodland Park is one of my absolute favorites! If you're looking for open an field with mountain views for your engagement session, this spot is a gem! Plus, it's only 40 minutes from Downtown Colorado Springs!
This session was from a few years back and Michaela and Jacob are now married and have a sweet little babe. I just love getting to be part of these stories!!
Thanks for being here! xxBrenna
