Hi I'm Brenna
Here to capture your memories for years to come
I was born and raised in Colorado Springs and went to college in New York City. After meeting my four best friends and exploring one of the greatest cities in the world (oh, and learning a little bit too!), I moved back to Colorado to marry my high school sweetheart, Michael. We love to travel and are always dreaming of the next trip (photographed here during our six month stint in Thailand as English teachers). We now live in Downtown Colorado Springs with our cat, Fig, who we adore way too much. When I'm not taking photos you can find me drinking wine on a friend's front porch, exploring new cities by foot, and watching Parks and Rec reruns.
My approach to capturing your story
As a photographer, so much of my work is tied to who I am as a person and how I try to make my subjects feel. When you hire me to photograph your wedding or capture a another special season in your life, my goal is to make you feel comfortable and confident and to share your story in a way that feels authentic to you. While I do approach my job as an art form, people always come before whatever artistic vision I hold for our time.
Photography is just one small piece of my job. The real work is in connecting with others, hearing your stories, and using my technical and creative skills to reflect who you are and the season of life you're in.
My photography journey
My first memories of photography involved taking my family’s clunky point-and-shoot camera on trips, making my friends model for me in the field behind our house, and the cringiest self-portraits you could possibly imagine. Eventually, I saved up enough money to buy my first Canon DSLR — I remember the pride I felt when I opened the box and took my first photo.
My first photography gig was as a second-shooter when I was a sophomore in high school. While I always enjoyed getting to help with weddings and shoots, it never once crossed my mind that I might one day start my own photography business.
When I went to college, my focus fell on other areas and my camera sat idly by. It wasn't until years later that my passion for photography was reinvigorated. I had graduated college, gotten married, and worked a few marketing jobs when a coworker asked me to take their newborn photos. I nervously answered “yes,” dusted off my camera, and truly, the rest is history.
Since picking up that camera again, I've shot 60 weddings and counting, captured countless families, new lives, and couples, and grown a business I love dearly!
